What the hell is RLGT

its a game about racing cars in various tracks all around the world. if you don't have a good memory, don't worry, its the first thing you'll find out when you start a new career.

Anyway this game is the result of over 1 year of struggling to create something Ive never done before.

CAUTION : if you want a short game you can try to finish in less than a day then go ahead. Just know this aint Need for speed or forza motorsport.

IMPORTANT : I paused development cos I had to focus on school and other stuff people have to do. If you find any bugs, feel free to tell me. And i'll be releasing a patch as soon as I can to address the bugs.

anyway the game works great, just turn up the menu music and turn off the gameplay audio cos that will literraly make your ears bleed. like seriously the audio is bad, like i would literally imagine it being used as a torture method somewhere. Anyway hit SHIFT + X at the slotselect screen and post a screenshot of how long you played (NOTE : that UI was made for small resolutions so it might not show well on large screens)

(basically just me rambling about how hard it was to even get here)

it all started around June 2021 (yeah that long). I was overhyped for the then upcoming forza horizon 5 and gran turismo 7 (thats when i got the idea but i was like nah too much work). Forza released and it was awesome (nov 2021). but gran turismo released and it was ....... wow (around March 2022). It was beautiful, really beautiful but it had only 1 problem, bloated out progression and too much grind. So instead of complaining about that, I thought to myself, "how hard can it be right, i mean lots of people make games for a living right?"

And so it began. I came up with the name Racelife just 2 days ago (june 2023) coz to be honest i never thought of a name for it (don't judge me, even Einstein forgot his living address). the GT part was because it was supposed to be a gran turismo ripoff with a straightforward progression system and graphics that were basically asset flips of whatever model was high enough in quality and enough polygons to prevent burning my potato PC.

It was a small project that was to be my first game. Well its basically like that dream game you want to make only to realize that making a game isn't as easy as hitting a few buttons and letting unity do its thing. i mean if you make games you already know what i'm talking about.

Anyway the result was a game i'm actually proud of. The only bad thing is that i mostly used unity standard assets for alot of things so it was basically like change one thing and the whole system breaks 😂. Anyway i was able to work through the bugs and come up with what you see now.

Also i'm thinking of starting a youtube channel where ill talk about everything I learned along the way so look forward to that. see ya. and please don't crash too much those cars were expensive😁.(i mean seriously i had to buy that pack for 100 bucks so be careful).

Finally: I am currently going through school so I don't have that much free time but ill do my best to update the game as much as I can.

the game has this weird issue where the main menu takes forever to load (Still trying to fix this)
